Traveling is a wonderful passion to have because it is not not only about visiting a beautiful place but experiencing a different culture and tradition that would take your breath away.
Traveling is what we do to get away from the daily grind and my husband taught me that we should be going to places when we are still young and full of energy.
To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countriesAldous Huxley
Statistics of International Travel in the United States
According to Statista, the total number of tourists traveling internationally from the U.S. in 2016 was 72.56 million of which, majority traveled only to the neighboring countries as below:
- 27.8 million traveled to Mexico and
- 12.93 million traveled to Canada that year
So, only about 9.7% traveled abroad excluding Mexico and Canada. This is unbelievable!
I feel like I have a lot of work to do 🙂 to inspire more of you to get to travel and explore other countries.
You might be wondering why did I exclude Mexico and Canada in the numbers above, it is because the historically rich places that offer unique and different culture and tradition are all outside the Americas.
The things that you never experienced before are the things that will blow you away. The good news about travel is you will experience other countries and its people with your own eyes rather than watching all other media or hearsay.
Join me as I document our travels to some of the world’s most beautiful destinations. Through sharing our thoughts, photographs, and experiences, we hope to inspire you to start your own journey. The good thing about travel is that it is never too late.
I marked the countries we have visited so far on the map above and no, we haven’t visited the entire country, just parts of it, most famous cities and historical landmarks for a couple of weeks in big countries.
If we can inspire just one of you to visit a place that you have never been to before, this travel blog has served its purpose.
In the circles below, each represents one of the 6 continents of the world and I replaced the continent, Antarctica with the Carribean because we currently have no plans to travel to Antarctica.
The featured pictures below represent a famous tourist destination in each of these 6 planets and the Caribbean. Without touching/hovering the circles, try to guess the planet they belong to.
Below is the list of 30 countries we have been to so far, many more to go to and there is no doubt we will revisit all of the below again:
